Gucci says stop to fur: a victory for Horse Lovers too

Dear Horse Lovers,

After Stella McCartney and many others fashion designers that decided to banish furs from their collections, another big fashion brand chose to follow the same way. I’m talking about Gucci, that announced that it will no longer use naturals furs for its creations starting from the next Spring Summer Collection.

Gucci says stop to furs: a victory that makes happy us Horse Lovers too. Yes, because a true Horse Lover loves and respects all animals: beavers, chinchillas, dogs and cats, foxes, minks, rabbits, raccoons, seals, and bears suffer unimaginable cruelty, captured and bred just for their fur. 

“Do you think that furs are still modern? They are not and for this reason, we decided that we are going to stop our production” said Marco Bizzarri, Gucci’s President and CEO, at the London College of Fashion. I absolutely agree: today, thanks to the technology, it’s possible to create high-quality materials without killing any animal. And style is not affected at all! Did you see the new Spring Summer 2018 collection by Gucci?

Dopo Stella McCartney e tanti altri stilisti che hanno deciso di bandire le pellicce dalle loro collezioni, anche un altro grandissimo marchio della moda mondiale ha scelto di seguire questa strada. Si tratta di Gucci, che ha annunciato che non utilizzerà più le pellicce naturali per le sue creazioni a partire dalla collezione Primavera Estate 2018.

Gucci dice quindi stop all’uso di pellicce animali: un successo che piace anche noi Horse Lovers. Sì, perché un vero Horse Lover ama e rispetta tutti gli animali: castori, cincillà, cani e gatti, volpi, visoni, conigli, procioni, foche e orsi soffrono di una crudeltà inimmaginabile, catturati o allevati solo per la loro pelliccia. 

“Credete che usare le pellicce sia ancora moderno? Non lo è affatto e per questa ragione abbiamo deciso che non ne produrremo più” ha detto Marco Bizzarri, presidente ed AD di Gucci al London College of Fashion. E io non posso che essere più d’accordo: oggi, grazie alla tecnologia, è possibile creare materiali di grandissima qualità senza dover ricorrere all’uccisione di animali. E lo stile non ne risente, anzi! Full of colors, super glamour and brilliant, the Spring Summer 2018 collection by Gucci conjugates the need of something new with the typical Gucci’s equestrian style: the bite and the Web, the green-red-green band inspired by the girth of the horse, are still protagonists.

Among the guests at the presentation of the collection in Milan, there was also a Royal horsewoman very close to the Florentine Maison, Charlotte Casiraghi :-)

Colorata, super glamour ed estrosa, la collezione Primavera Estate 2018 di Gucci riesce a coniugare la voglia di novità con uno stile equestre tutto tipico di Gucci: il morso del cavallo e il Web, la fascia verde-rossa-verde ispirata al sottopancia del cavallo, continuano a essere protagonisti. 
Tra gli ospiti alla presentazione della collezione a Milano anche un'amazzone Reale da sempre vicina alla Maison fiorentina, Charlotte Casiraghi :-)
