Longines Masters 2017, the equestrian style shined in Paris

“We want to place showjumping under the spotlight with exceptional events as the legendary tennis tournaments.” (Christophe Ameeuw, founder and CEO of EEM)

Dear Horse Lovers,
Paris opened the 2017-2018 Longines Masters season, the events supported by the Swiss watchmaker Longines that touch three continents for three unmissable events: sport and glamor come together as only the equestrian world can do! The flagship of the event was the Prestige Village, a real paradise for us Horse Lovers fashionistas, an area where the glamor of prestigious brands such as Longines, Hermès Sellier, Land Rover and Institut Esthederm meet the common passion for equestrian sports.

Cari Horse Lovers,

I watched the competitions thanks to the live streaming of EEM.tv, the official channel of the Longines Masters series, which led me virtually near the field. The Longines Speed Challenge was one of the most exciting competitions: the speed always gives emotions! The fastest in Paris was Julien Epaillard on Cristallo A LM, who beat his team-mate Kevin Staut. Italian Lorenzo de Luca on Limestone Gray finished third. Not bad at all for Italy ;-)
The new season also saw the introduction of a new competition format, the Riders Masters Cup, which featured a direct competition between a European team and an American team: a clash of titans of the show jumping! The team of the Old Continent, with Kevin Staut, Maikel van der Vleuten, Gregory Wathelet, Jos Verlooy and Lorenzo de Luca, won over United States, with 9 points against 6.
Then Sunday was the moment of the prestigious Longines Grand Prix. The German rider Daniel Deusser and Cornet D'Amour beat the hosts Simon Delestre and Hermes Ryan with just a small advantage. American Lauren Hough on Ohlala won the third place, leaving French Pénélope Leprévost and her Vagabond de la Pomme off the podium.

After the race, Daniel Deusser was immortalized in this sweet photo with her daughter. Tell me the truth, you melted too, don’t you Horse Lovers? Keeping talking of “equestrian parents”, the new mom Edwina Tops-Alexander, who has recently returned to the competition, posed with her little Chloé. Aren’t they beautiful?

The next appointment with the Longines Masters 2017-2018 will be in Hong Kong in February, while the new leg of New York will close the series, in April.
