Dear Horse Lovers,

A few days ago, I attended the presentation of the new Longines Collection 2017, at Edit Milano, st. Maroncelli 14 in Milan. As you know I had participated at that special Longines event also last year and the year before, but I’ve to say that this year Longines really has overcome itself. Maybe that’s because 2017 is very special: the Swiss brand is celebrating the 185 years of activity.

Qualche giorno fa, ho partecipato alla presentazione delle nuove Collezioni Longines 2017, presso lo Spazio Edit Milano, in via Maroncelli 14. Come sapete ho avuto il piacere di assistere a questo speciale evento firmato Longines anche lo scorso anno e quello prima ma devo dire che quest’anno Longines si è superata. Forse perché il 2017 è speciale: l’azienda svizzera celebra i suoi 185 anni di attività.

Longines Record Collection

To commemorate this important goal, Longines presented the Longines Record Collection, automatic models ready to become the spearheads of the brand. The secret is the heart of the watch, a unique single-crystal silicon balance spring. The single-crystal silicon is a light, resistant and insensible to temperature variations material. Thanks to those technical characteristics, the watches of the Longines Record Collection are certified as “chronometers” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). I absolutely couldn’t stay not fascinated by those elegant technology jewels!

Proprio per commemorare questo importante traguardo, Longines ha presentato la Longines Record Collection, modelli a carica automatica pronti a diventare la punta di diamante della casa svizzera. Il segreto è nel cuore dell’orologio, una spirale in silicio monocristallino unica. Il silicio monocristallino è un materiale resistente, leggero ed insensibile alle variazioni di temperatura. Grazie alle particolari caratteristiche tecniche, gli orologi della Longines Record Collection sono certificati come “cronometri”, un riconoscimento prestigioso ricevuto direttamente dal COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute). Chiaramente non potevo non rimanere affascinata da questi eleganti gioielli di tecnologia!

Longines Equestrian Collection

Also our beloved Longines Equestrian Collection has some news: to classical leather watchbands, Longines decided to add also steel watchbands, giving a modern touch that follows the evolutions of the Longines Collections 2017.

Anche la nostra amata Longines Equestrian Collection ha delle novità da proporre: ai classici cinturini in pelle si aggiungono anche i cinturini a maglia, per un tocco moderno in linea con l’evoluzione delle Collezioni Longines 2017.

Also the Conquest Jumping is getting renovated, remaining faithful to the quartz movement that made it one of the best watches in the world. With precision and sportive character, without forgiving Longines’ elegance, the Conquest is the core watch for three different sport disciplines: showjumping, ski and tennis.

Anche il Conquest Jumping si rinnova, restando comunque fedele al movimento al quarzo che lo ha reso uno dei migliori orologi al mondo. Flagship Heritage

Moreover, for the 185° anniversary, Longines decided to propose again some vintage models, as the Flagship, celebrating this year its 60° birthday. The Flagship Heritage 60° Anniversary 1975-2017 has been created in limited edition in steel, yellow gold and pink gold and the clock face has been chosen personally by the Longines Ambassador of Elegance Kate Winslet.

Inoltre, proprio in occasione del 185° anniversario, Longines ha deciso di riproporre alcuni modelli vintage, tra cui il Flagship, che quest’anno celebra i suoi 60 anni. Il Flagship Heritage 60° Anniversario 1957-2017 è stato prodotto in edizione limitata in acciaio, oro giallo e oro rosa e il quadrante è stato scelto personalmente da Kate Winslet, ambasciatrice di eleganza Longines.
