Finally on vacation: Travelling to Denmark, home of the famous Mermaid and of my Knabstrupper horses

“Never go on trips with anyone you do not love.” (Ernest Hemingway)
(Ernest Hamingway)

Dear Horse Lovers,
Holidays officially arrived for me too!
I have started my vacations by spending some days in Rome, to stay with my parents and horses, that unfortunately I see very rarely. I miss my land, that went through hard moments, tormented by an aggressive fireThen, I’ll fly in one of the most equestrian countries in Europe, Denmark! I’m planning to show you something special, follow me on Instagram Stories to be sure you won’t lose any news!

Cari Horse Lovers,

As you know, my family breeds the Knabstrupper, a Danish breed. They are really special horses, for their dimensions and their unusual coat. We love their exceptional character together with their sportive skills. They are excellent athletes, perfect especially for kids, for dressage and showjumping. Indeed, they are famous to be the horse of Pippi Longstocking :-)

Of course, we will stop in Copenhagen. My friend Yulia of Equigeo told me that she thinks that the capital of Denmark is even more equestrian than Wien! She had an amazing tour with  Instagrammer @amagerridetur and her Icelandic horses. She's organizing herself a travel back to Denmark, so maybe we will meet! I also will try to organise a horseback riding out of the city, maybe along the seashore!

In Copenhagen, I will certain visit the Royal Stables at Christiansborg Palace, a must-see for us Horse Lovers!
I have been recommended to visit also 1) the Amelienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish Royals, 2) the awe inspiring Marble Church, with the characteristic copper green dome is one of the most impressive churches of the city, 3) Rosenborg Castle and the King's Garden, Denmark's oldest royal garden and a popular place for Capenhageners to meet and relax and for children to play in the artistic playground, 4) Rundertårnthe characteristic Round Tower, icon of the city, 5) the Church of Our Lady (in Danish Vor Frue Kirke), is Copenhagen's Cathedral, next to the neighbouring University, 6) the De Kongelige Stalde, in the Royal Stables’ harness museum with the former kings and queens carriages, uniforms and equestrian accessories, 7) the Kongerness Lapidarium hosts the equestrian monument of King Frederick V. Considered one of the most beautiful in the world, he took more than 20 years of work at the French sculptor J.F.J. Saly and costed more than the entire Amalienborg Palace, and of course 8the famous Mermaid

My husband still doesn’t have a clue, but I’m planning to dedicate a whole day to shopping! I hope I can find some special fashion equestrian item. Do you remember my black tights with horses by Trendydonna? They are made in Italy, but designed in Denmark ;-)

I would like to walk through all the lovely streets of the city center, from Strøget to Læderstræde, and buy some Danish design. Trendydonna suggested the store Illums Bolighus at Højbro plads and the famous Royal Copenhagen. And I would like to visit the incredible Dahlman saddlery on Fortunstaede, of which I've heard so much about from the friends of The Horse Rider's Journal, and discover the local gastronomic culture.
