As you probably remember, I’m a big supporter of Stella McCartney. I love her British equestrian style, mixed with her ability to make it always new and charming: it doesn’t matter if you are an Horse Lover to admire Stella’s creation, you will just become one! In her new Stella McCartney fall winter 2017/2018 woman collection, the English fashion designer mixed art and equestrian style, creating a line inspired by “Horse frightened by a lion” of British painter George Stubbs. Stella gave a new life to an old romantic classic, taking it back on the footlight (and in a new shape) centuries after its birth. Sometime to be a revolutionary means also to be able to recover old styles or ideas of the past, to save them from the oblivion: don’t you agree Horse Lovers?

Come forse ricorderete, sono una grande fan di Stella McCartney. Adoro il suo stile equestre e british, unito alla sua capacità di renderlo sempre nuovo e attraente: non importa essere Horse Lover per amare le creazioni di Stella, lo si diventa! Nella sua nuova collezione Stella McCartney Donna Autunno Inverno 2017/2018, la stilista inglese ha unito arte e stile equestre creando alcuni pezzi ispirati a “Cavallo spaventato da un leone”, del pittore inglese George Stubbs: Stella è riuscita a dare una nuova vita ad un grande classico del romanticismo, riportandolo alle luci dalla ribalta (e in una nuova veste) secoli dopo la sua nascita. A volte rivoluzionare significa anche saper recuperare stili o idee che sono appartenute ad un tempo passato, per salvarle dall’oblio: non siete d’accoro Horse Lovers?

Another characteristic of the new fall winter collection of Stella McCartney that impressed the press and the fashion lovers (including myself!) is the birth of a new material called “skin-free skin”. A modern animal-friendly fabric that delivers a new elegance made of sophisticated vegan luxury. “I am so excited that we have finally developed fabrics that look just as good as the real thing and therefore genuinely pose a question to the industry about why anyone needs to use leather anymore,” Stella said. She’s been working  on this material for a long time, together with her staff, to recreate the quality of the natural leather. Stella McCartney is a great vegan fashion advocate, thinking that it’s possible to create luxury and amazing clothes without take advantage of the animal world. 

Un’altra caratteristica della nuova collezione autunno inverno di Stella McCartney che ha colpito stampa e appassionati di moda (compresa la sottoscritta!) è la nascita di un nuovissimo materiale chiamato “skin-free skin”, letteralmente pelle senza pelle, un moderno tessuto animal-friendly in grado di regalare una nuova eleganza fatta di lusso vegan più che sofisticato. “Sono così felice di essere finalmente riuscita a sviluppare un tessuto che riproduca le qualità della pelle. Ora come si giustificherà la necessità di usare ancora la vera pelle nel mondo della moda?” ha detto Stella, che da tempo stava lavorando con il suo staff alla creazione di un nuovo materiale che potesse riprodurre le qualità della pelle naturale. Stella McCartney è infatti un’accanita avvocatessa della moda vegana sostenendo che sia possibile creare pezzi belli e di lusso senza per questo nuocere al mondo animale.

I think that this collection marks an historic moment in the world of fashion and of the equestrian style: not only it propose classical equestrian inspired articles mixed with a more modern style, but it also offer a new material, that really can bring a revolution in the world of fashion, a revolution that takes care to many Horse Lovers!

Trovo che questa nuova collezione rappresenti un momento storico nel mondo della moda e dello stile equestre: non solo ci propone capi ispirati a tagli equestri più tradizionali mescolati ad uno stile più moderno, ma porta sul mercato anche un innovativo materiale, che potrebbe fare la rivoluzione nel mondo della moda, una rivoluzione che sta a cuore a tantissimi Horse Lovers!
