For the last summer leg, the Longines Global Champions Tour is back home in Valkenswaard, at the Tops International Arena. Valkenswaard is the heart of the Tour, home of its creator Jan Tops, who just became father of the little Chloe Cornelia Jennifer Tops. Mom Edwina Tops-Alexander had to watch the LGCT 2017 from far away: I hope we can see her riding soon, now that her daughter is born!

Per l’ultima tappa estiva, il Longines Global Champions Tour è tornato a casa, a Valkenswaard, presso la Tops International Arena. Valkenswaard è infatti il cuore del Tour e sede del suo ideatore, Jan Tops, appena diventato papà della piccola Chloe Cornelia Jennifer Tops. Mamma Edwina Tops Alexanders ha dovuto guardare il LGCT 2017 da lontano: spero che potremo vederla di nuovo in sella presto, ora che la piccola è nata!
Valkenswaard is also the home of the team that last year won the Global Champions League, the Valkenswaard United, that are still at the firsts places of the ranking. The team of Marcus Ehning, Bertram Allen, Alberto Zorzi, Janika Sprunger and Sanne Thijssen since now conquered three victories. Sharp and determinate as the colors they wear, they aspire to the trophy for the second year in a row.
Their jacket is electric blue, with orange details. The contrast between blue and orange is more clear on their polo: a lively combination that I like a lot and that I find perfect for this team.
Valkenswaard è anche la casa della squadra che lo scorso anno ha trionfato alla Global Champions League, i Valkenswaard United, che anche quest’anno occupano i primi posti della classifica. La squadra di Marcus Ehning, Bertram Allen, Alberto Zorzi, Janika Sprunger e Sanne Thijssen ha conquistato finora tre vittorie. Incisivi e decisi come i colori che indossano, puntano al trofeo finale per il secondo anno consecutivo.
La loro giacca è di un bel blu elettrico, con dettagli arancioni. Il contrasto tra il blu e l’arancione è ancora più evidente sulla polo: un accostamento vivace che mi piace molto e che trovo molto adatto alla squadra.

Unfortunately the Valkenswaard United wasn’t able to jump on the podium in front of their public, reaching the 4th place. The Hamburg Diamonds, their direct competitors, won, conquering also the top of the general ranking of the Global Champions League 2017.
Lorenzo De Luca on Ensor de Litrange LXII won the GP of the Longines Global Champions Tour of Valkenswaard! Now Italy has two athletes in the top five of the general ranking, thanks to Alberto Zorzi who is 3rd and Lorenzo De Luca who is 5th: this is a spectacular season!
Purtroppo, i Valkenswaard United non sono riusciti a salire sul podio davanti al loro pubblico, arrivando quarti. I loro diretti avversari, gli Hamburg Diamonds, hanno vinto, conquistando anche il primo posto nella classifica generale della Global Champions League 2017.
Nel GP del Longines Global Champions Tour di Valkenswaard ha trionfato il nostro Lorenzo De Luca su Ensor de Litrange LXII! Ora l’Italia ha addirittura due atleti nella top five della classifica generale, con Alberto Zorzi al terzo posto e Lorenzo De Luca al quinto: una stagione davvero spettacolare!
Now it’s time for a long stop for the Tour and next leg will finally be the Italian one, where we’ll meet the Rome Gladiators!
