Tacchi a Cavallo Q&A session on Horsealot

“Questions are never indiscreet, answers sometimes are” (Oscar Wilde)

Dear Horse Lovers,
as you know, I had the pleasure to be the protagonist on Horsealot, the Social Network dedicated to us, that connects more than 100.000 horse riders and equestrian enthusiasts, sharing everyday all the news about everything on the world of horses.
Last Christmas, I had been the Special Holiday Guest for a Q&A session, by users of Horsealot. This has been a very interesting experience: I’ve received many questions from users all over the world. If you have missed the appointment, here there are the most stimulating moments!

Cari Horse Lovers,

Mark: How did you become a recognized blogger? What were the key elements of your success?
Hi Mark,
Tacchi a Cavallo is the first blog in Italy on fashion and horses. Founded in 2014 to dive into the elegance and glamour of the equestrian world, it started to be a recognized blog especially this year that I initiated my collaboration with ClassHorseTV and very interesting fashion brands, working with them on capsule collections for the upcoming year. Also, I have consolidated my partnership with Longines, started three years ago, participating live at the best show jumping events, next to top riders and horses in the world.
The key element for this success is quality over quantity. I support the brands I work with, understanding deeply their products and vision to foster their communication strategy as a real partner.

Lauren: Where do you find inspiration for your articles?
Hi Lauren,
I am mostly inspired by my daily life. Grown up in a farm, my mother, horse breeder and trainer, installed in me the passion and love for animals. Also, I am a mom of a year old baby and an enthusiast of fashion. I love reading equestrian fashion magazine, browsing on the web, strolling around fashion shops in my city, Milan, Italy, and traveling with friends and my family.

Lauren: Dove trovi l’ispirazione per I tuoi articoli?
Ciao Lauren,

Tessy: How would you describe your style when riding?
Hi Tessy,
Thanks for your question.
I think I have my own style when I am riding, I can’t tell you whether is good or not (we should ask to the horse :-) but I try to do my best to cooperate with my horses, paying lot of attention onto them and their body. If I can, I do some TTouch work before and after riding. I follow the Tellington Method by a few years now and this really helped me to communicate and find a better balance with them, and with myself too. You can find lots of articles about this topic on my blog www.tacchiacavallo.com and very soon will be on air on ClassHorseTV my interview to the founder, Linda Tellington Jones, who’s a kind of hero for me.

Tessy: Come descriveresti il tuo stile a cavallo?
Ciao Tessy,

Melinda: With which brand do you dream to work?
Hi Melinda,
Well, a capsule collection with British designer and horse lover Stella McCartney would be a dream! I love her unconventional style. She is making a difference in the fashion industry proving that you can have an exquisite fashion sense and not compromise on your strong believes. She has built the world’s first sizable global fashion brand rooted in sustainability that does not use any animal products - no leather, no fur, no skins, no feathers!

Melinda: Con quale brand sogni di lavorare?
Ciao Melinda,

Kim: You travel a lot, up to you, in which country is equestrian lifestyle & fashion the most developed?
Hi Kim,
In my opinion, Italy offers one of the best fashion and equestrian brands in the world and a lot of companies are doing a great job such as Kep Italia, Cavalleria Toscana, Vestrum and the very new Ublack. However the Italian horse culture still has a very big gap and need to be developed as equestrianism is limited to a very few people and the path to become a professional rider is very hard. Too much compared to the German neighbors, to mention one.
I also love very much the English style. When I am at the stable, I like wearing a Barbour jacket since my childhood! Also, the Palace Collection created by Hobbs London in collaboration with Historic Royal Palaces, inspired by Queen Victoria love for horses, is simply amazing, very well detailed in fabrics and prints. The English designer Stella McCartney is a horse lover too and proposes very often equestrian-inspired items in her collections.
US also offers a lot in fashion, California is probably the most active country and you can find a lot on Instagram… bloggers, riders, brands. I have lots of American followers.

Blogger, cavalieri, marchi, ho diversi follower statunitensi.

Camille: What breed do you prefer between Lipizzan and Quarter Horse?
I like both of them for different reasons. I have two Quarter horses in my farm and we love doing horse trailing in the countryside with them. They are very strong and intelligent horses.
I had the privilege to see the famous Lipizzan stallions at the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, the oldest riding academy in the world, where the High School of Classical Horsemanship has been cherished and maintained for over 430 years. They are considered especially noble, spirited and suited for the art of classical horsemanship. If you ever have the chance to travel to Vienna do not miss my 3-days-itinerary for horse lovers on http://www.tacchiacavallo.com/2016/09/autumn-in-vienna-3-days-itinerary-for.html?m=1 along with tips and advices to make it worthwhile ;-)

Mathéa: Do you think that it is possible to enjoy equestrian fashion with a little budget?
Absolutely! It depends of your budget and of what you are looking for, but there are more and more fashion brands that get inspired by our beloved friends horses, for any budget.
The Spanish fashion brand Mango was recently offering very good deals during the Black Friday for nice equestrian inspired items at less than 40 Euro. You can see them here http://www.tacchiacavallo.com/2016/11/mango-black-friday-bright-ideas.html?m=1 and try to check the price and availability for the upcoming sale season ;-)
I also like a lot the Italian brand Binomioitalia as it makes very good items for every day’s life. From slippers, bikini and hairdryer, to T-shirts: everything is personalized with horses and equestrian patterns. You can find lots of article about Binomioitalia, this is the last one I wrote http://www.tacchiacavallo.com/2016/12/binomioitalia-we-and-horse-together-out.html?m=1
