Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2017: the commitment of Tacchi a Cavallo's Foulards

Dear Horse Lovers,

October is a very important month for women’s health: it’s the month dedicated to the breast cancer awareness. Women are diagnosed with breast cancer every two minutes in the U.S., while in Italy they are around 50.000 every year: this is one of the most common illness of our time.

Exactly 25 year ago, Evelyn Lauder started the battle for the awareness, creating the well-known symbol, the pink ribbon. Her foundation works to prevent and cure this kind of cancer. The cures improve every years thanks to the research, and also the psychological field introduces new therapies to help women with breast cancer, like the Equine Therapy.

Cari Horse Lovers,

Ottobre è un mese importante per la salute delle donne: è infatti il mese della prevenzione del tumore al seno. Ogni due minuti viene fatta una diagnosi di tumore al seno negli Stati Uniti, mentre in Italia si stima che in un anno circa 50.000 donne debbano lottare contro questa malattia: insomma, è una delle malattie più diffuse del nostro tempo. 

Esattamente 25 anni fa, Evelyn Lauder iniziava la battaglia per la consapevolezza, creando quello che sarebbe poi diventato il simbolo della lotta, il nastro rosa. La sua fondazione lavora da allora per prevenire e curare questo tipo di tumore. Le cure migliorano di anno in anno, grazie alla ricerca e anche nell’ambito del supporto psicologico vengono introdotte nuove terapie, come la Equine Therapy, di cui vi avevo già parlato qui.

I am trying to do something myself to support who's fighting this battle: every sales of Tacchi a Cavallo’ equestrian foulards supports the RI Project for breast operated women, promoted by Fienile Animato of Dr. Beatrice Garzotto.

Thanks to your true Horse Lovers support, I was able to do a donation, but I would like to do more. 


To help this cause, I partnered with family portrait photographer Le Kelly Photography and one of my favorite magazine, Milanomoms, in a photographic shooting dedicated to women of every age: my foulards were protagonists, together with the will to spread the awareness on the breast cancer prevention month. I am so glad I did it because these photos are not just “pictures”, they really are amazing photographs that truly captured the spirit of the project and that I will treasure for a lifetime. I Foulard di Tacchi a Cavallo

Nel mio piccolo, anche io cerco di fare qualcosa per sostenere chi sta combattendo questa battaglia: ogni vendita dei foulard a tema equestre di Tacchi a Cavallo sostiene il Progetto RI per donne operata al seno, promosso da Fienile Animato della Dott.ssa Beatrice Garzotto.

Grazie al vostro sostegno di veri Horse Lovers sono già riuscita a fare delle donazioni, ma vorrei fare sempre di più. 

Per aiutare la causa, ho coinvolto la fotografa di ritratti di famiglia Le Kelly Photography e la mia rivista preferita, Milanomoms, in uno shooting fotografico dedicato alle donne di ogni età: protagonisti i mie foulard e ovviamente anche tanta voglia di diffondere la consapevolezza a proposito del mese della prevenzione dei tumori al seno. Sono contenta di averlo fatto perché queste foto non sono solo “immagini”, sono davvero delle fotografie incredibili che colgono perfettamente lo spirito del progetto, di cui farò tesoro per tutta la vita. Thanks to Milano Polo Club for hosting us in its headquarters in Mesero, and thanks to the brands that participated to the shooting. 
My little baby boy was dressed head to toe by Gusella Milano, I was wearing three different Marzi Firenze hats (hats are never enough :-), the new Longines watch model of The Longines Equestrian Collection 2017, earrings with horse hair by Horsehair Jewellery Italia and a colourful dress by French Connection. While my friend Valentina, Director and founder of Milanomoms, was wearing a beautiful skirt with flowers by Kate by Laltramoda and a blouse by French Connection. Her daughter matched her blue elegant sneakers made by Gusella Milano with a blue sweater and a tartan checkered skirt by Jakioo, enriching her outfit with a large bow hair band and an amazing equestrian themed bag by Monnalisa.
